Apparently I Like Food...

So, what have I been up to in London? Lots of things, and they are usually accompanied by foods! So, first of all here's a photo of me with my horse Roody in Wales! We had a lovely time together, even though he was rowdy at times.

So, last week for lunch, Heidi came and visited me and we ate at the Rootmaster bus in a market area off of Brick Lane. We both got a delicious veggie burger with chips and some lovely tomato sauce or homemade ketchup type thing. Heidi also got olives, which I also enjoyed - strange since I usually hate olives.

Later on in the week, we went to Le Pain Quotidien for dinner. I got a Meze Platter, which stated that it came with hummus, baba ganoush, and aubergine something or other with bread. It didn't say that it came with six slices of bread! I forgot to take a photo, so this is what it looked like when I was extremely full. Good thing that they had run out of vegan blueberry muffins!

This past weekend was 'Pride Weekend 2010' in London and there was a parade on Saturday. I went, along with two of the other interns and it was quite the party. I got my picture with this lovely lady and I will have to say that she was not even the craziest costume that I had seen all day!

'Queen Elizabeth' was there as well!

Thanks to my roommate, Lindsey, I attended Perez Hilton's 'One Night in London' party at the Indig02. There were several different acts, including the Hoosiers, Diana Vickers, Peaches (pictured to the left), Kelis, and a really awesome girl's choir that I can't recall the name of. It was super fun, and I even got a photo with Peaches, but it wasn't on my camera so it will be in a future blog post!

So, to the left and above to the right are the cupcakes that Heidi and I got form Ms. Cupcake at the Brick Lane Tea Rooms on Sunday. Ms. Cupcake makes delicious, all vegan cupcakes in about 75 different flavours that she rotates all the time. They are probably the most amazing things ever! The top box is mine and has (from left to right, top row first), chocolate peanut butter, lemon drop, mango blueberry, and ferro rocher. The other box is Heidi's and has bananaoffee, strawberry cream, chocolate raspberry, and ferro rocher. We will definitely be going back there very soon!

So, yesterday Heidi and I went to breakfast at Tibits. This is my plate, minus the soya latte that I had with it. It doesn't look particularly like a breakfast, does it? I had an apple turnover, which was delicious, but then a bunch of cold salads and fruit. After I sat down, Heidi informed me that the clerk mentioned to her that 'I must be hungry', due to the amount of food that was on my plate. I don't really want to go back and hear that I'm eating too much again, so that will probably be the last time I visit Tibits...

Again, on Monday, we had class and a lunch break. Here is the meal I got from the Hare Krishna man. It was mashed potatoes, with some mashed orange veg on top with some sort of flat bread. It was very delicious and I ate most of it. Apparently it was a very hungry day - at least the Hare Krishna man didn't judge my hunger!

On Monday night, Lindsey, Heidi, Elizabeth, and I all went to the Ellie Goulding concert at the Indig02. The concert was sponsored by BestBuy UK so Lindsey had to go for work, but the rest of us won tickets on facebook. If you're wondering who Ellie Goulding is, just youtube her name. She was fabulous! The picture to the right is Elizabeth and I.

Here's a photo of Ellie Goulding. She was phenomenal - she played guitar as well as drums while she was singing. I'm really glad we were able to win tickets and see the concert - even though some clumsy little boy spilled beer on our feet!

On Sunday I went to the Secret Society of Vegans (which is a shop/place for vegans to hang out) for a cake swap. It was really fun and tasty even though there were only about seven of us there. I had a lovely gluten-free brownie and a chocolate tart shell filled with a berry flavoured tofu filling. I'm really glad I went and I even get to volunteer in the shop next week Saturday! It should be really lovely, considering I am allowed to have as many free soya shakes as I want while I'm volunteering!
